In order to update the silk weavers on new technologies and machineries for weaving, a four-day-long exhibition has kicked off here on Friday.
Organised by the Weavers Service Centre (WSC), Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Union Ministry of Textile and State Department of Textile and Handloom, the exhibition has brought an array of latest tools for weavers from various States which would make the process easy for them.

China has decided to release cotton in its state reserves, a move that can shake up the global market for the fiber. The news helped push cotton futures to a three-week low on Friday. The contract for March delivery on the ICE Futures US exchange later settled 0.5% lower. Further India has cancelled cotton export to Pakistan a few times in the past after the price of the commodity shot up at the world markets. Moreover, India also estimated slowdown in cotton production this fiscal year.

Business Unit Textile Chemicals will be sold to SK Capital (c) 2012 Clariant
The divestment has been approved by the Boards of both companies. Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2013.
“For Clariant the transaction marks a significant milestone in the execution of its profitable growth strategy, after the acquisition of Süd-Chemie in 2011”, CEO Hariolf Kottmann said. “I am pleased that we are able to execute this divest
